Magie de Noël dans le ciel bâlois

La cathédrale de Bâle et sa silhouette se découpant sur un ciel étoilé. Cette toile a été réalisée suite au marché de Noël de 2022. L’ambiance magique de cette période y est bien visible.

Selon le document de Samuel Coccius conservé à la bibliothèque centrale de Zürich, un tel événement s’est produit à Bâle en 1566. Les 25 et 28 juillet et le 7 août trois phénomènes célestes distincts sont observés. Le premier est décrit comme un lever de soleil inhabituel, le deuxième comme une éclipse totale de lune avec un lever de soleil rouge et le troisième comme une nuée de sphères noires devant le soleil. L’illustration de ce document présente la place de la cathédrale et des phénomènes étranges dans le ciel.

Rien de tel sur la toile « Magie de Noël dans le ciel bâlois » si ce n’est la fusée signature de l’auteur et le traineau du père Noël qui n’a rien d’extra-terrestre.

Basel Cathedral and its silhouette against a starry sky. This painting was made after the Christmas market of 2022. The magical atmosphere of this period is clearly visible.

According to a document by Samuel Coccius in the Central Library in Zurich, such an event took place in Basel in 1566. On July 25 and 28 and August 7, three distinct celestial phenomena were observed. The first is described as an unusual sunrise, the second as a total eclipse of the moon with a red sunrise and the third as a cloud of black spheres in front of the sun. The illustration in this document shows the cathedral square and strange phenomena in the sky.

There is nothing like this on the painting « Christmas Magic in the Basel Sky » except for the author’s signature rocket and Santa’s sleigh which is not alien.
