Le vaisseau spatial est insignifiant par rapport à la taille de notre planète, mais que dire du soleil en comparaison? Le Soleil est une étoile de type naine jaune située dans le Système solaire. Il existe dans la Voie lactée plus de 100 millions d’étoiles de type spectral identique, ce qui fait du Soleil une étoile assez ordinaire. La plus grande étoile connue (en mai 2026) est Stephenson 2-18 (St2-18), également connue sous le nom de Stephenson 2 DFK 1 ou RSGC2-18. Cette super géante est situé à environ 6 000 parsecs (20 000 années-lumière) de la Terre. Son rayon est estimé à environ 2 150 fois celui du Soleil, ce qui correspond à un volume environ 10 milliards de fois plus grand que celui du Soleil.

Et la terre dans tout ça? Notre « petit soleil » peut en contenir… 1,3 million!

La proéminence rouge de la toile en fait une peinture « à part » dans la série « retour à l’espace ». Clairement pas pour tous les intérieurs!

The spaceship is insignificant compared to the size of our planet, but what about the Sun in comparison? The Sun is a yellow dwarf star located in the Solar System. There are over 100 million stars of the same spectral type in the Milky Way, making the Sun a fairly ordinary star. The largest known star (as of May 2026) is Stephenson 2-18 (St2-18), also known as Stephenson 2 DFK 1 or RSGC2-18. This supergiant is located approximately 6,000 parsecs (20,000 light-years) from Earth. Its radius is estimated to be about 2,150 times that of the Sun, which corresponds to a volume approximately 10 billion times greater than that of the Sun.

And where does Earth fit into all this? Our ‘little sun’ could house it… 1.3 million times!

The red prominence in the canvas makes this a painting ‘apart’ from the rest in the ‘Return to Space’ series. Clearly not for every interior!
